The Fifth Olympiad: the Official Report of the Olympic Games of Stockholm 1912

The official report of the Olympic Games held in Stockholm in 1912. As exhaustive account of all there is to know about the 5th Olympiad including all the bureaucratic wranglings and preparations for the Games, the actual results and also a wonderful series of portraits of the winners. The 1912 Games were the last to issue solid gold medals and, with Japan's debut, the first time an Asian nation participated. They were also the first to have art competitions, the first to feature the decathlon and pentathlon, both won by Jim Thorpe, women's diving and women's swimming, and also the first to introduce electric timing.
