The Yale Center for British Art (YCBA) is an art museum and research institute in New Haven, Connecticut. Founded in 1966, the center's mission is to encourage the appreciation and understanding of art and material culture primarily of the countries of Britain, Ireland, and the British Empire. Presented to Yale University by Paul Mellon (Yale College, Class of 1929), the Center houses the largest collection of British art outside the United Kingdom. Thousands of images of works in the Center’s collection believed to be in the public domain are available for free through the Center’s online collection catalogue. (Wikipedia)
